Welcome to Chapter 23- Gratitude
This journey so far has truly been a rollercoaster of emotions, filled with highs and lows, challenges and breakthroughs. It has taken us face-to-face with our deepest fears while also giving us the courage to dream bigger than ever before. Thank you for walking this journey with me, choosing growth, and committing to becoming the best versions of ourselves and who we were always meant to be.
Entering my gratitude era with faith, confidence, and zero negativity.
Gratitude has a quiet power. It doesn’t mean life is perfect. It doesn’t mean we don’t struggle, feel tired, or face hard times. It simply means we choose to notice the good even when things aren’t easy. It means we shift our focus from what’s missing to what’s already present.
So often, we get caught up in what we still want, what hasn’t worked out yet, and what we wish was different. We compare our lives to others. We rush past small blessings. We overlook answered prayers because we’re focused on the next thing. But when we slow down and look around, we realise how much we already have to be thankful for. Breath in our lungs. A roof over our heads. People who love us. Strength to keep going. Opportunities to grow. Another day to try again.
Gratitude changes the way we see life. It softens our hearts. It lifts our spirits. It reminds us that even in difficult seasons, God is still working. When we’re thankful, our mindset shifts. Stress loses some of its power. Fear doesn’t feel as loud. Worry doesn’t control us the same way. Peace begins to grow where anxiety once lived.

Being grateful doesn’t mean ignoring pain. It means trusting that pain is not the end of the story. It means believing that every lesson, every delay, every closed door is shaping us for something better. When we thank God in advance, even before we understand, we show faith. And faith opens doors we can’t see yet.
The more grateful we become, the more joy we experience. We start celebrating progress instead of perfection. We honour how far we’ve come instead of only focusing on how far we have to go. We become kinder to ourselves. We stop being so hard on our journey. We learn to appreciate the season we’re in, knowing it’s preparing us for the next.
Take a moment to pause and reflect. Think about three things you’re thankful for right now. Not yesterday. Not “when life gets better.” Right now. Let gratitude fill your heart. Let it reset your mindset. Let it remind you that you are blessed, you are growing, and you are becoming.
Let me leave this with you: Gratitude should be a natural, consistent behaviour, not merely an occasional act, as seen in Colossians 3:17 and Psalm 100:4.
Love Shana xx
