Day 2 of choosing me: Self Doubt
Self-doubt is really just fear trying to protect you.
It wants control because control feels safe. But safe doesn’t always move you forward.
When self-doubt shows up, it doesn’t mean something’s wrong with you.
Most of the time, it means you’re standing at the edge of growth — and fear is getting nervous.
Here’s the part no one really tells you:
Self-doubt has never actually proven it knows better.
For years, you’ve trusted your self-doubt.
You’ve listened when it told you to wait, to shrink, to not try yet.
And if you’re honest with yourself… has it made you happier?
Has it taken you where you want to be?
Probably not.
Self-doubt only points out what could go wrong.
It never shows you what could go right.
It never reminds you how many hard things you’ve already survived.

Here’s the part worth paying attention to:
You’ve already handled things you once thought you couldn’t.
So the idea that you suddenly can’t trust yourself now? That’s fear talking — not truth.
Self-doubt doesn’t disappear when you feel ready.
It loosens its grip when you decide to trust yourself instead.
Not because you have all the answers.
But because you’re willing to figure it out as you go.
And really — why not trust you?
You’re the one who wants the best for you.
You’re the one who keeps getting back up.
So next time self-doubt starts getting loud, pause and ask:
When has it ever led me somewhere better?
Maybe this time, you let yourself call the shots.
Time for a little dare…
Write down one decision you’ve been avoiding because you’re scared of getting it wrong.
Next to it, write: What would I do if I trusted myself just a little more?
Commit to one small thing you can actually do in the next day — keep it real, keep it simple and be realistic.
No pressure. Just progress.
Drop a comment and share the little step you’re taking — let’s celebrate the small wins.
Let me leave this with you :
Faith Over Sight: Live by faith, not by what you can see or feel (2 Corinthians 5:7, Hebrews 11:1).

Some truly valid comments about self doubt. Let’s turn a negative word into a positive…self confidence. Have that self belief. If it fails, rise up, dust yourself off, and go again.
The world has become a place of comparison, and too many people are questioning if they’re “good enough.” It’s time to tear down the cameras, turn off the filters, and rebuild a genuine community — a space where we don’t pull each other down, but lift each other up
Hey Nigel, I agree with you completely. Turning self-doubt into self-confidence is exactly what Shana’s been touching on in this journey. Even when it doesn’t work out, getting back up and going again is part of trusting yourself. Really liked your take on it 🤍
